    • Shade Tree Workshop & Distribution Events
We distribute hundreds of free shade trees to residents across the Valley through our two shade tree programs: SRP Shade Tree Program, and Mesa Shade Tree Program. These are large scale, fun events and we could not run them without volunteers!

Volunteer roles vary from greeter/customer service and registration roles, to more physically active roles such as lifting and distributing trees up to 15 lbs. max each.
These events run from February- April, and September- November.

Check out our new YouTube video, "Volunteer Videos" to learn more about some of our volunteers, what Trees Matter means to them and why they chose to volunteer with us.

Our volunteers are the foundation of Trees Matter, and we can't have the impact we do on our communities without you.

We hope this video gives you a glimpse of our story, our impact, and inspires you to get involved.

      Katie Arias, volunteer since 2011

"My name is Katie and I volunteer at Trees Matter because I love it so much! Having successful and thriving trees is one of the most pressing concerns in our city (and the world). Volunteering for an organization that arms citizens with the ability to properly care for their trees and help them successfully mature is an amazing thing. I am a Certified Arborist and a Master Gardener. I do enjoy using my knowledge to help other people learn how to properly care for trees and other plants. Healthier stronger trees means that less power and water is wasted, which in turn cycles through and means less environmental damage. Trees Matter holds a special place in my heart. This organization does so much good in the world. I feel an indescribable amount of joy and satisfaction when I get to volunteer at the shade tree events. And truly, there’s not a better group of people out there."
